PARIS DEBUT

  Krzysztof Urbański made his Paris debut last week when he conducted the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. All Russian program included Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture, Prokofiev’s Fifth Piano Concerto with Nicolas Angelich and Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite (1945).

ISO’S OPENING NIGHT GALA

  Krzysztof Urbański led the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in a magical gala inspired by Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. His own selection of Prokofiev’s ballet and suites excerpts opened the concert. Joshua Bell delighted the audience with an arrangement of Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story Suite.
