This week Krzysztof Urbański makes his debut with the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich. The programme features Elgar’s Cello Concerto with Sol Gabetta and Shostakovich’s Symphony No.10. The opening concert takes place on 24 February, followed by two further performances on 25 and 26 February.
Krzysztof Urbański will sign his new CD with NDR Sinfonieorchester after concert with Münchner Philharmoniker on February 16th. The CD includes three pieces by Witold Lutosławski: Mała Suita, Symphony No.4 and Concerto for the Orchestra. The disc will be released in March 2016.
This and next week Urbański leads the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. Program of the concerts include: Wojciech Kilar’s Orawa, Witold Lutosławski’s Concerto for Orchestra and three poems from Ma Vlast by Bedřich Smetana: Vyšehrad, Vltava and Sárka.
